Ghana Implements Visa Exemption for Holders of African Passports

In a significant move, outgoing Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has enacted a policy allowing visa-free travel for all citizens of Africa.
Previously, Ghana had extended visa-free entry to individuals from 26 African nations, while travelers from an additional 25 countries were required to secure a visa upon their arrival in Ghana. Only visitors from two specific African nations needed to obtain a visa prior to their journey.
With this new policy, Ghana joins the ranks of four other African nations—Rwanda, Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin—that have opened their borders to all African passport holders. This landmark decision is anticipated to enhance travel, stimulate trade, and promote tourism across the African continent.
