Oil marketers have lowered the price of petrol to N939.50 per litre. Those sourcing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly referred to as petrol, from Dangote Petroleum Refinery have decreased the price from N1,060 to N939.50 per litre.

As reported by Vanguard, major oil marketers, including MRS, have updated their pump prices to reflect this reduction starting today.

During a visit to an MRS filling station in Ojota, Lagos, it was observed that the petrol price has been set at N939.50 per litre, although MRS Chairman Alhaji Sayyu Idris Dantata refrained from commenting when approached. In addition, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has lowered its ex-pump price from N970 to N899.50 per litre, a decision aimed at easing the financial strain on Nigerians in anticipation of the holiday season.

Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, stated:
“To ease transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is implementing a holiday discount on PMS. Effective today, our petrol will be priced at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading facility or SPM.

“Additionally, customers purchasing petrol on a cash basis will have the option to buy another litre on credit, supported by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank.”

This price reduction is anticipated to relieve some of the financial pressure on consumers as they approach the festive season.
